Swedish flutist Göran Marcusson won the Young Artist Competition in USA 1987 and got his soloist diploma at the Music Conservatory of Göteborg 1992. He has played principal flute with the Göteborg Opera Orchestra, Finnish Radio Sympony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. Since 1997 he is among the family of artist in The Newport Music Festival R.I. Besides Newport he gives his annual international masterclass in Blue Ridge Mountains Nort Carolina since 2003 and tours US regularly with his pianist. Last years tours also included performances of the Nielsen Concerto and Mozart G major Concerto with orchestras in Virginia and North Carolina.
