GÖRAN MARCUSSON

Welcome!

My new CD on Naxos "Melodies of a Silver Flute" is released in February as the "CD of the Month" in Sweden. I hope it will reach the international market soon after but I can't say when that will be. I am very happy with the result and the work with Jönköping Symfonietta and conductor Jerker Johansson. Naxos did a great job with the cover and finding a title that reflects the content well. Only sad thing was that we were unable to use the photo of a quality instrument that my flute maker Brannen Brothers provided. Anyway I'm very satisfied.

I will perform a series of chamber music concerts in Kronhuset, Göteborg during
the late winter. Tim Carey will join me for a recital. Later in March we will
do one evening with harp trio and later an evening with a quartet focusing on
Mozart and Beethoven.

I will play with the Göteborg Opera Orchestra until the summer. Göteborg Wind
Orchestra has restarted even if it is sadly reduced both in the number of
musicians and in service. Anyway it is positive and one can only hope that the
politicians take their full responsibility for the part of the Swedish culture
that if fully run on taxmoney.
